Join us at this side event, it brings together Government and civil society delegates, providing space for conceptual clarity and practical policy proposals on key areas of ocean resources, rights and responsibilities, from diverse heterodox expertise. Highlighting progressive policy initiatives and wider community programmes related to SDG14 advanced by governments and civil society groups from various regions, the discussion will contribute to advancing and accelerating this work. The panel will draw connections between SDG14 and the other 16 SDGs, including critical aspects of food security, water security, environmental sustainability and supply side strategies, gender equality and women’s human rights, ending poverty, addressing climate change, financing for development and means of implementation, and much more. Representatives from government and civil society will share examples of various initiatives from the Pacific, and globally.
