This first webinar about National Voluntary Reviews for Agenda 2030 will share lessons learned by Women’s Major Group members who followed their country’s reviews and reporting in 2016 at the High Level Political Forum (HLPF). It will also outline how the WMG members can support each other with advance planning for 2017. We should be included in the national review process, so a big question is how will that happen. Will we be able to provide official inputs, have a chance to give feedback and participate in the process at national level? Or will we need to do alternative and parallel or shadow reports? What can we do at the HLPF itself?
Now that we are 1 year past the adoption of the 2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, implementation is really beginning at national level. The Women’s Major Group (WMG) has a major focus on accountability to the 2030 Agenda, at the national level, regional and global levels. The Agenda 2030 is universal and all Member States should be reporting in the coming years. Additionally, the process and reports should be inclusive of civil society and especially women’s rights and feminist organizations. To prepare for 2017, it’s time to plan now. Join us!
