The African Women’s regional statement was prepared as a result of a women’s strategy and capacity building meeting held on the 9th-11th of November in Istanbul, Turkey, prior to the UN ECA Women and Development Committee meeting with a focus on Post 2015. The women’s meeting received support from WECF, UNECA, IWHC and was financially supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development through the GIZ programme „Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights“.
